The number of arrivals of Uttarakhandi migrants through railways and roadways has started increasing day by day. Apart from the district, travelers of the hill districts of Kumaon are also going to their destinations via Haldwani, the entrance of Kumaon.This was stated by District Magistrate Mr. Savin Bansal at a meeting of officials held at Dera Night Camp Office. He said that the number of trains coming from many provinces of the country is likely to increase. For this, train schedules are being issued by the Railway Ministry. Haridwar has been earmarked for the stations of trains coming to Uttarakhand for Kathgodam, Lalkuan and Garhwal. An increased number of passengers will be sent from these trains.

Mr. Bansal said that people are coming continuously from other provinces by trains, now the pilgrims of Pithoragarh, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts coming to Lalkuan and Kathgodam will be sent directly to Rudrapur from where the district administration Udham Singh Nagar has reached their destination

Mr. Bansal told the officials that on the initiative of the state government, our responsibilities have increased due to the frequent arrival of migrant Uttarakhand people stuck in lockdown from other provinces of the country. He said that it is our duty to help those who are coming to Kumaon from outside Uttarakhand.He said that proper arrangements for food and drinking water should be made for the migrants who reach late at night, stopping them. He said that the thermal scanning and testing of all passengers should be done while preparing their database.He said that all the officers will ensure complete readiness and two-way communication arrangements. Arrangements should be made for late night travelers to eat at night also. He said that self-help groups and Indira Amma Canteen operators should be deployed in the city stadium and Gaulapar stadium for round-the-clock meals so that food is available for the passengers round the clock.He said that whatever sector magistrates have been appointed, they should be briffed for the responsibilities. For immediate resolution of any problem, the sector magistrates will contact their nodal officer control room. He said that there is chaos from the situation of communication gap, where the passengers get in trouble, the same wrong message also goes, all officers should work with full team spirit.Senior Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar Meena said that Sector Police Officers are being deployed to arm and make arrangements. He said that social distancing should be made compulsory among the visiting passengers.
